One of the largest ski areas of Carinthia is in the sunny valley at an altitude of about 1100 m, on the border of the Nockberge National Park. On both sides Bad Kleinkirchheim is surrounded by wooded mountains, whose height reaches 2440 m. Thanks to the picturesque surroundings and two large thermal complexes, the area is a popular place for recreation and winter sports. Traditionally, there are World Cup stages and other competitions in alpine skiing. For snowboarders there is a fan park with a 90-meter half-pipe, there are all conditions for lovers of cross-country skiing, sledges and ice skating, there are lighted tracks for evening skiing.Two large thermal springs make the town attractive for those who want to combine active holidays with a visit to the spa. "Roman Baths" and "Therms of St. Katrine" are open to all lovers of radon baths.
The romantic and charming spa town of Baden-by-Wyne, surrounded by fields and vineyards, is located right near Vienna, just 26 km away. Excellent climate with a moderate heat in summer and a comfortable temperature in winter allows you to relax here at any time of the year. First of all, Baden is famous for its sulfur sources. Even the city coat of arms, granted by Emperor Frederick III, depicts a man and a woman in a bathing cask. The healing power of Baden's mineral waters was known to the ancient Romans. The place where warm sulphurous springs rise from the crevasses in the rocks, they called "aquae" - "water". At one time Baden baths were chosen by crowned individuals. For centuries the emperors came here for rest and treatment. And still Baden is considered a prestigious suburb of Vienna and one of the best thermal spas in Austria.
Gars-am-Kamp is located at an altitude of 256 m above sea level in the heart of the Kamptal valley, through which the Kamp River flows. This is the place where the beauty of meadows and vineyards slows down the run of time, and where the guests of the resort can relax, rest their soul and body and regain strength. The resort Gars-am-Kamp offers opportunities for practicing oriental and western sports, restorative gymnastics, as well as qualified and high-quality medical care. To prepare dishes like Austrian cuisine and healthy cuisine of other countries, the gastronomic gastronomes give preference to the natural and biologically pure products of the region. In the resort there is a complex of swimming pools under the open air Sport- und Erlebnisbad, combining modern equipment and the idyllic natural water landscape. Here you can swim in the sports pool area of 520 m², or relax in the pool with bays, fountains and water massage with a total area of 293 m². A small children's pool of 24 m² with a hill of 58 meters will undoubtedly please the young guests.
In the park Wörth, open to the general public well-known in Austria and Europe health expert Willie Dungle, directly on the bank of the Kamp River, there are two beach volleyball courts. The highlight of the cultural program of Gars-am-Kamp is the open air opera Air Festspiele Gars at the ruins of the Babenberger fortress - a place with amazing acoustics and scenery.
The amazing valley of Gastein is located in the heart of the Alps, surrounded by the picturesque Hohe Tauern mountains. The main plus of the valley, uniting the three resorts, in its diversity - depending on your preferences, you can choose either cozy Dorfgastein (maybe even a little rustic, which follows from its name: Dorf - in German "village"), or modern Bad Hofgastein (famous primarily for comfortable hotels with pools with thermal water) or the old aristocratic Bad Gastein, where in the distant 1945 the first lift was opened in the valley. Since that moment the skiing infrastructure of the region has developed up to 208 km of trails and 53 lifts. Between the descents of all resorts, special ski buses run (from 8:00 to 18:00), between some, in particular those relating to Bad Gastein and Bad Hofgastein, and you can even move without taking off skis. In the valley at your service any height in the range from 830 to 2700 m above sea level. . The valley is also remarkable for its curative thermal waters. The daily volume of water coming from 18 sources is 4.5 million liters. A special factor is the presence of radon in water and air. According to the doctor's instructions, radon baths are taken in the spa centers or special departments of the hotel spa complexes.
Heiligenblut is Carinthia’s highest skiing resort on the foot of and with view to the highest mountain of Austria: Grossglockner. As the skiing area with its 55 slope kilometers from 1.301m to 2.902m above sea level and an elevation difference of up to 1.500m, Heiligenblut is a skiing area with snow-guarantee. Additionally, freeriders and deep-snow skiers will come into their own with the approx. 15.000 ha of open, high-alpine skiing expanse with countless variations. Most of the 55 slope km are red (medium) and blue (easy) slopes, but there is also a black one. On top there are the 15.000 ha of open freeride territory. In the skiing area there are a total of 12 skilifts including a kids’ lift, drag lifts, chair lifts and cabin lifts.75% of the skiing area are above 2.000m sea level. Due to the elevation difference, there are long descents (the longest one is approx. 1,5km) and the there are no waiting times at the skilifts.
Innsbruck – the capital of Alps, located in Tirol. On the border of two Austrian federal states - Carinthia and Salzburg, on a sunny pass at an altitude of 1640 m above sea level is Kaczberg, ideal for families. The skiing area starts here at 2220 m, the climatic conditions guarantee high-quality snow cover (for the safety all slopes are equipped with snow cannons), wide trails with a total length of 70 km provide interesting skiing for beginners and experienced skiers. The city, grown from a small alpine village between the slopes of Ahorn and Penken, is one of the most popular ski resorts in Austria. This famous sports center is located at an altitude of 630 m above sea level, in the center of the Zillertal Valley - one of the largest ski regions, which includes about 500 km of trails and over 170 lifts. The climate here is milder compared to other parts of Western Tyrol. Mayrhofen is known as the most "Russian" ski resort in Austria. Here you will not experience a language barrier: at your service - Russian-speaking instructors and staff in some hotels and institutions, the Russian menu. And in Mayrhofen a cheerful atmosphere reigns, that's why young people like to rest at this resort. And if young people are attracted to this lively nightlife and fairly democratic prices, then family - the conditions created for children, including children's ski schools and gardens. Here is the longest cable car, the steepest descent in Austria and the three main skiing areas. In the very south of Austria, in the Carnic Alps, is one of the ten most popular ski resorts in the country - Nassfeld. This is the sunniest ski area in Austria: in the winter season there is an average of 100 sunny hours more than in other regions. The resort is located on the border with Italy, and some descents lead straight abroad. The difference in altitude here is 1300-2020 m. Trails of various degrees of complexity with a total length of 110 km are serviced by 30 modern lifts, including the longest gondola lift in Europe - the Millennium Express. And in children's ski schools, mini-clubs and gardens, they will take care of the skating of the youngest guests of the resort.
The name of the valley of Stubaital was given by the largest glacier in Austria - Stubai, a favorite place for training national ski teams. The season is open all year round. Osttirol Eastern Tirol is one of the largest resort regions of Tyrol with excellent conditions for family skiing, training for beginners and snowboarders. The charming alpine villages of Saalbach and Hinterglemm are located in the picturesque valley of Glemmtal, 4 km apart. Together with Leogang they form one of the largest sports regions in Austria, called the "Ski Circus". One of the main advantages of the region is an effective system of lifts, covering the whole ski area. In Austria, there are no equal. The Telfs ski resort is located just 25 kilometers from Innsbruck in a small Tyrolean valley. The valley of Ottztal is one of the largest regions of Alpine skiing and is known for its highest mountain resorts in Austria. Sölden (1,377 m), Vent (1,900 m), Obergurgl (1,930 m) and Hochgurgl (2,150 m), Hochselden (2,050 m) are the record holders for attendance and are second only to popularity after Vienna. The valley of Ottztal itself has a unique variety of natural landscapes: flat sections of the valley are replaced by steep canyons with mountain rivers and glacier tops. Two glaciers and three three-thousandths provide excellent opportunities for a variety of skiing. Sölden is considered the main resort of the valley. Located at an altitude of 1377 m the resort has all the necessary facilities for first-class skiing. In the resort area there are four interconnected skiing areas. Glacier Tiffenbach (2796-3250 m), known for its shallow and wide slopes, is more suitable for beginners. His neighbor Rettenbach (2684-3250 m) is a place for experienced athletes. Since October all the upper routes are covered with excellent snow. It is for this reason that Sölden is one of the favorite places for those who cannot wait for the opening of the season in other ski centers in Austria. There are all necessary conditions for recreation and sports, including a large swimming pool with slides and waterfalls, a children's pool, saunas, a jacuzzi, herbal and aromatic baths, a solarium, a gym, 2 indoor tennis courts, bowling.
The thermal region of Stegersbach in the south of Austrian land Burgenland is primarily an upscale holiday, a mild sunny climate with a Mediterranean touch, a paradise for golfers, wine lovers, joggers and hikers.
